Ethan led me out to the balcony, where there were two chairs and a small table already adorned with set of glasses. There was also a bottle of wine there too, and without hesitation, he poured a glass for me to drink. I nodded in graciousness, taking it out of his hand and sipping it. Although I was not much of a wine drinker, this wine tasted surprisingly good. Ethan looked at me for a moment before speaking once again.

“The skyline looks remarkable tonight.”

“That it is... So I have to ask Ethan, why do you do participate in these social scenes even though you hate showing off like that? It just seems so unlike you. To be honest, I thought that you were going to be like one of those men that only gave the time of day to hot girls who wore a size zero. Yet you’re the complete opposite of it. I mean, I was so shocked when you came up to ask me to dance, and then when you asked me to come up with you I thought I was dreaming. Sorry if this sounds kind of stupid and I sound like an idiot, but I’m genuinely curious.” I said.

I really wanted to know, and a part of me felt like it was something more than just a simple “well I thought you looked sad so I wanted to hang out with you” type of thing. This seemed legit, and I wanted to know why.

Ethan took a sip of his wine and looked at me for a moment. His eyes were so piercing, that I felt as if they could gaze into my soul. He was so handsome that I couldn’t help but blush just from looking at him. I slipped out of my trance as he began to talk.

“Well to be honest Trista, I hate that life. I only got into it because I’m rich, and even then it was a fluke. I hate the shallow women that I always encounter. The only reason I invite them is because my advisors ask me to. They tell me that I need to find one of those sexy women who would do anything for me and would stay by my side as a hot piece of eye candy, yet that’s not what I want. What I want is a woman who wants me for who I am, and that’s what I get from you.”

I stared at him with a curious glance. “Wait, you think I’m the right type of woman for you? Even if I don’t look like those supermodels downstairs?” I asked.

“You are gorgeous to me Trista. I can tell you have a good heart. You’re honest and so far I love your personality. Unlike those supermodels downstairs, most of them but are vicious and only want me for my money and status.”

I felt like this man was reading my mind. Like were we brain twins or something. Or maybe even soul mates. Wait, maybe I’m jumping the gun on this one.
